I’m Owen Paintner, a graphic designer currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts with an emphasis in Graphic Design.
I’ve always wanted to solve problems. At first, my dream job was to be a scientist, then an engineer, a programmer, web developer, and finally, a graphic designer. I think what led me to this point is that I began to look around and slowly realize that common things that are all around us have had tons of work and thought put into them. Things from the boldest and brightest advertisements in Times Square to the sticker on the lid of a college student’s laptop.
To me, some of these designed objects have a sense of wonder. It’s the thing that makes you grab a poster off a wall, buy a sticker and put it on your laptop, or cut a magazine and put an image into a scrapbook. Something that makes you stop and go, “Wow, that’s super cool!” or “I see what you did there!”
Every time I make something, I try to make people feel that sense of wonder when looking at my work. Whether I succeed or fail, I always learn something new that makes me even better the next time. I can’t get enough of trying new things, working with new people, and finding better workflows and methods for achieving my goal!
